Tirta Gangga was formerly a water park belonging to the Karangasem Kingdom which was built by the King of Karangasem, Anak Agung Anglurah Ketut Karangasem Agung in 1946. Tirta Gangga comes from the word “Tirta” which means holy water and the word “Gangga” which is the name of a holy river in India .

From its name, it is meant that this tourist park has holy water originating from the Ganges River, and is a form of respect for the Hindu community.

Tirta Gangga was built on an area of 1.2 hectares that extends from east to west in a rice field area. There are three buildings that dominate the character, namely the statue, the pool building and the plantation area. All these buildings have implied meanings in them.

The natural conditions of Tirta Gangga are very cool, this is because it is located at the foot of Mount Agung. The beauty and coolness of the location is what makes tourists comfortable and at home visiting this tourist attraction for a long time. The calm and peaceful atmosphere of Tirta Gangga is very suitable as a reliever and reliever from tiring life activities.

At the first gate, tourists will be greeted by statues lined up neatly like soldiers. Visitors can explore the pond by walking over the pond with a path made of stones neatly arranged like a series of bridges. You can take selfies with the statues in the pool in the background so it looks more characterful.

Next visit is Taman Ujun Soekasada “The Royal Water Palace of Karangasem Kingdom with heroic history to discover.

Taman Ujung Soekasada Park was originally built in 1901 with the name Dirah Pond. Dirah Pond means a pool where people who have mastered black magic are dumped. Taman Ujung was built by the King of Karangasem named I Gusti Bagus Jelantik who had the title Agung Anglurah Ketut Karangasem.

Then in 1909, the king of Karangasem ordered a Dutch architect named Van Den Hentz and a Chinese architect named Loto Ang to develop the Dirah pool into a resting place for the King of Karangasem. The construction of this king’s resting place was also assisted by local architects from the Karangasem Kingdom.

What else is there about Taman Ujung apart from the classic buildings? Here we can see the beautiful panorama presented from the highest area which is decorated with large pillars without a roof. From this position, if we look to the southeast, we will see the blue sea of Ujung Beach. From here we can also see a green hill called Bisbis Hill.
